Earlier this week, Calgary’s City Council approved a number of by-law amendments which have cleared the way for the long-awaited redevelopment of Mission Road in Calgary’s SW inner city. For the last couple of years, the city has been working with landowners, community residents and other stakeholders to build a vision and foster redevelopment initiatives by private developers, and I have personally been an active particpant in this process as both an area resident and development industry participant.
Calgary Urban Equities, along with Assured Communities, controls what many believe is the “keystone” development site in this area and is currently completing a number of key independent studies and due diligence initiatives supporting our first-mover advantage for a modest residential redevelopment in this prime inner city area.
